Mornings are Glorious

So let me start this blog out with the subject that I deal with as soon as I slam the snooze button for the hundredth time...parenting. Hi, my name is Kristine, and I am a parent.

I spend the majority of my morning being my twin 12 year old's cheerleader, their motivator.
"Come on girls, you need to get up!"
"Make sure you are quick in the shower!"
"You need to get dressed!"
"Your hair looks great! Now lets go!"

By the time those two are ready, I have already showered, ate breakfast, and gotten dressed. All of a sudden, the tables turn. Now I am the one that they are nagging at. I still have to get my gym bag together and pack my lunch.
"Mom, if you don't hurry, then you will just have to take us to school."
"Mom, I have to do morning announcements and we are going to be late if you don't hurry!"
"You look fine, lets go!"

So we finally pile into the car, when I realize that its Tuesday (again) and the trash needs to be taken to the corner. I swear I can hear the kids' eyes rolling in their heads as I get back out of the car to lug the heavy trashcan through the wet dewy grass (in my heels) to the curb. The handles are all wet with icky trashan-dew and so the only thing I can wipe my hands on is my jacket. You can't just walk around with wet trashcan hands! It would an abomination if I ventured into the house and wasted more time cleaning up. The sound from the girls' eyeballs would be deafening.

The best part of the morning is when I drop them off at their Gammy's house. They hop out of the car and on their way out I say, "Have a good day girls! I love you!" They always look back at me and say,"I love you too!"

Moving up in the world.

Today, is the day, that I created another blog site. I am sure that I will probably keep journaling at my previous home, but here is where I will put the good stuff, the meat, the essence of "me". Ok, that just sounds kind of gross. My previous home was less of a blog and more of an online-journal. Random thoughts, and I mean random, that just kind of busted out onto a page. Sometimes with typos. Yeah.

I really have grown to love and appreciate putting my thoughts and life into text and creating an online biography of sorts. So now its time to move up a little. Up the ante. My biography will consist of things that appear normal - job, kids, home, cat, family and men - and of things that are not so normal - single parenting, exes, boyfriends, and dating.

My hobbies are gardening and anything artsy-fartsy things. My daily love is reading blogs. I will be a strange grandmother someday when I garden and sew, while I am wearing my Ipod or other high tech mobile device and reading blogs. People will point and stare.

Other things that I tend to talk about is health - be it food, working out, or my medical conditions (sleep apnea, depression, allergies, asthma...blah, blah, blah).

One thing about me is that no matter how down I may get, I am always positive that the next moment will be better. I love to find ways to improve myself, my home, my kids, etc. I am an improvement guru of sorts.

I hope you come back and visit my wonderful new baby.
